The Wounded Healer

Life is filled with times of joy and sorrow, triumph and loss. And, as we face those times in life, we somehow discover who we are and what it means to live as a person of faith.


Simon's mother-in-law is touched and healed by Jesus in today's Gospel; and right after that, the Bible tells us, she climbs out of bed and begins to serve other people. This is a story about a woman who was healed and made whole again by Jesus. This is a story about you.


Pastor Wayne draws upon this story and upon the wisdom of Henri Nouwen as he speaks about how you can share the story of your life and faith with other people. Jesus walks beside you every day, and he even brings you through times of great challenge and difficulty as a "wounded healer" who has a story to share that can bless and stir up faith in others.
