Core Beliefs
The following are the core beliefs of Christ's Lutheran Church in Murrysville, PA. Our core beliefs are based upon the foundational truths taught in the Bible. All of our teaching and ministry spring from what God has revealed to us through the life and ministry of Jesus Christ.
God
There is one eternally existing God who has been revealed to us in three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. God the Father is the Creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is worthy of all glory and praise. God the Son is Jesus Christ, the Word of God incarnate. God makes everything new through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus and fashions a new creation through Him. God the Holy Spirit works in our lives to create and sustain our faith and to strengthen our fellowship for service in the world.
Revelation
We come to know God through Jesus Christ, who is the visible image of the invisible God, through the holy scriptures, and through all of creation itself. The Holy Spirit
makes us holy by bringing us to faith in Christ, so that we
can be at peace with God and lead holy lives.

Human Beings
Human beings were created in God's image and for God's glory. Human beings were created to live their lives without sin but drifted away from God's plan. God has begun to rebuild the image of God that we lost, but only in Heaven will it be fully restored.
The Fall
Human beings chose to disobey God and ceased to be what they were created to be. The image of God that once existed in human beings became distorted. This distortion caused all of humanity to fall out of fellowship with God and fractured God's creation.
Salvation
Jesus Christ came to reconcile us with God. Jesus lived a life without sin and willingly died on the Cross. God raised Jesus from the dead and now, by grace, offers eternal life as a free gift to all who believe in Jesus. We are made right in God's eyes and can live our lives at peace with God because of Jesus.
The Church
The visible Church is the body of Christ in the world today. It is found where the Good News of Jesus Christ is preached in purity and where the sacraments are administered according to the Gospel. The invisible Church is the gathering of all of God's saints who continue to praise God both now and throughout eternity.
Ressurection
We believe that the same bodies that have died will be made alive on the Last Day. On that Day, all who believe will enjoy being with Christ in both body and soul.
